LAWS OF MARYLAND

THE REGIONAL DISTRICT, IF THE COUNTY OR THE DEPARTMENT FINDS
THERE IS OR WOULD BE AN ADVERSE EFFECT, AS A RESULT OF NOISE OR
TRAFFIC, ON THE SAFETY, HEALTH, OR WELFARE OF THE RESIDENTS IN
THE IMMEDIATE AREA OF THE LAND THAT IS THE SUBJECT OF THE GRADING

PERMIT.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1989.

CHAPTER 811

(House Bill 879)

AN ACT concerning

Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission —Refunds Credits

MC/PG 33-89

FOR the purpose of altering the date after which a written claim
for a refund of the fee or charge in excess of that which is
properly and legally payable to the Washington Suburban
Sanitary Commission may be made; altering the statute of
limitations for filing a claim; authorizing the WSSC to
refund any fee or charge that is mistakenly overpaid by or
on behalf of a claimant; and generally relating to the
refund of certain payments by the WSSC. FOR the purpose of
authorizing the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission to
conduct a certain study; requiring certain
reports by
certain dates; authorizing the WSSC to grant a credit for
part of any payment made in connection with a multiunit
residential customer service account, regardless of when
paid, under certain circumstances; establishing an Office of
the Prince George's County Ombudsman within the Washington
Suburban Sanitary Commission; requiring the Prince George's
County Executive, with the approval of the Princ
e George's
County Council, to appoint the
Prince George's County
Ombudsman; establishing the powers and duties of the
Ombudsman; requiring Prince George's County to pay the
Ombudsman's salary and provide funding for the Office of the
Ombudsman; providing for the salary of the Ombudsman
;
prohibiting the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission from
taking certain action under certain circumstances; extending
the date by which certain provisions of law are declared
null and void; making provisions of this Act severable;
and
generally relating to a credit for certain payments by the
WSSC the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission.
