State of Maryland, the State Police Retirement System of the
State of Maryland, or the Pension System for Teachers of the
State of Maryland;

(ii) Any judge as defined in §§ 55
through 63A of this article;

(iii) Any member of the General Assembly;

(iv) Any correctional officer as defined
in § 156 of this article;

(v) Any class of employee whose

compensation is paid only partly by this State;

(vi) Any employee who serves on a
temporary basis; [and]

(vii) Any person who is employed pursuant
to a federal Comprehensive Employment and Training Act (CETA)
public service employment program; AND

(VIII) ANY MASTER APPOINTED ON OR BEFORE
JUNE 30, 1989.

(d) In any case of doubt, the board of trustees
shall determine whether any person is an employee regardless of
the method of payment.

113.

The membership of the pension system shall consist of the
following individuals;

(8) ANY MASTER IN CHANCERY OR MASTER IN JUVENILE CAUSES
APPOINTED AFTER JUNE 30, 1989 IN ANY COUNTY BY THE CIRCUIT COURT
FOR THAT COUNTY AND WHO SERVES ON A FULL-TIME BASIS AS A MASTER.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1989.
