AN ACT concerning
Sewage Sludge - Permit to Store - Notice
and Public Hearing
FOR the purpose of requiring the Department of the Environment to
hold a public hearing within a certain time after the
receipt of any on an application for a, amendment, or
renewal of a permit to install, materially alter, "or"
materially extend a structure to store sewage sludge;
requiring the Department to publish notice of the
application and certain information regarding the public
hearing, and to mail copies of the published notice to
certain persons; providing for the location of the public
hearing; establishing certain penalties in the event of any
noncompliance with certain notice and public hearing
requirements; providing a right of appeal to the local Board
of Zoning Appeals to any person aggrieved by a Department
decision regarding the storage of sewage sludge; providing
for the holding or consolidation of public hearings;
prohibiting the Department of the Environment from renewing
certain sewage sludge permits unless a public hearing is
held; providing for the scope and application of this Act;
making this Act an emergency measure; and generally relating
to an application for a permit to store sewage sludge.
