COVERAGE REQUIRED UNDER THIS ARTICLE OR TO RESTRICT THE SCOPE OF
COVERAGE UNDER ANY POLICY OR CONTRACT ISSUED OR DELIVERED IN THIS
STATE TO AN EMPLOYER OR AN INDIVIDUAL BY AN INSURER OR A
NONPROFIT HEALTH SERVICE PLAN.

(C) NOTHING IN THIS SECTION MAY BE CONSTRUED TO ENCOURAGE
SURGICAL PROCEDURES OVER APPROPRIATE NONSURGICAL PROCEDURES, OR
TO PROHIBIT THE CONTINUED COVERAGE OF NONSURGICAL PROCEDURES IN
THE TREATMENT OF A SOME OR JOINT OF THE FACE, NECK, OR HEAD.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1989.

AN ACT concerning

Maryland Emergency Management Agency

FOR the purpose of renaming and transferring the duties,
responsibilities, and authority for operating the Maryland
Emergency Management and Civil Defense Agency from the
Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services to the
Military Department; providing for the implementation of
this Act and for certain transitional rights, duties, and
responsibilities; adding certain industry representation to
the Emergency Management Advisory Council; and generally
relating to the Maryland Emergency Management Agency.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
