(k) (2) (I) [No] A commissioner OF THE MONTGOMERY COUNTY
BOARD OF LICENSE COMMISSIONERS [shall have] MAY NOT:
1. HAVE any interest, direct or indirect,
either proprietary or by means of any loan, mortgage or lien, or
in any other manner, in or on any premises where alcoholic
beverages are manufactured or sold; [nor shall he have]
2. HAVE any interest, direct or indirect,
in any business wholly or partially devoted to the manufacture or
sale of alcoholic beverages[, or own];
3. OWN any stock in any corporation which
has any interest, proprietary or otherwise, direct or indirect,
in any premises where alcoholic beverages are manufactured or
sold or in any business wholly or partially devoted to the
manufacture or sale of alcoholic beverages[, or hold]; OR
4. HOLD any other public office [or
employment], federal, State or local.
(II) SUBJECT TO THE PROVISIONS OF THE
MONTGOMERY COUNTY PUBLIC ETHICS LAW, A COMMISSIONER OF THE BOARD
OF LICENSE COMMISSIONERS MAY BE AN EMPLOYEE OF THE FEDERAL,
STATE, OR LOCAL GOVERNMENT, PROVIDED THAT A COMMISSIONER MAY NOT
BE AN EMPLOYEE OF THE COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF LIQUOR CONTROL.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1989.

AN ACT concerning
Higher Education - Tuition - Interstate Agreements
FOR the purpose of authorizing the Maryland Higher Education
Commission to enter into certain interstate agreements for
certain purposes; authorizing the Commission to waive
certain tuition and fee charges under certain circumstances;
providing for the applicability of this Act to certain
institutions; requiring the Commission to consult with
certain entities prior to entering into certain agreements;
