LAWS OF MARYLAND

AIDS;

1.  SPEECH RECEPTION;

2.  THRESHOLD TESTING; AND

3.  SPEECH DISCRIMINATION TESTING;

(III)  MASKING METHODOLOGY;

(IV)  CHOICE AND ADAPTATION OF HEARING AIDS;

(V)  TESTING OF HEARING AIDS;

(VI)  MAINTENANCE AND BASIC REPAIR OF HEARING

(VII)  TAKING OF EAR MOLD IMPRESSIONS; AND

(VIII) OTHER TECHNIQUES AND PROCEDURES THAT MAY
BE REQUIRED TO FIT HEARING AIDS.

(E)  PREPARATION OF EXAMINATIONS.

(1)  THE BOARD SHALL USE A NEW EXAMINATION AT LEAST
ONCE A YEAR.

(2)  THE BOARD MAY NOT GIVE AN EXAMINATION THAT AN
ASSOCIATION OF HEARING AID DEALERS OR MANUFACTURERS PREPARES.

(F)  EQUIPMENT AND FACILITIES.

THE BOARD MAY BUY OR RENT AND MAINTAIN ANY AUDIOMETRIC
EQUIPMENT OR FACILITY THAT IS NEEDED TO GIVE EXAMINATIONS UNDER
THIS SECTION.

REVISOR'S NOTE: Subsections (a), (b), and (d)(2) through
(f) of this section are new language derived without
substantive change from former Art. 56, §§ 514(a) and
(b), 515, and 524(4) and (8).

Subsection (c) of this section is new language added
to state expressly that which only was implied by the
reference, in former Art. 56, § 514(a), to an
"applicant ... who is notified by the Board that he
has fulfilled the requirements" -- i.e., the Board
must notify each qualified applicant before the
administration of an examination.

Subsection (d)(1) of this section is standard language
added to state expressly that which only was implied
in the former law -- i.e., the Board has control over
the content, administration, and scoring of
examinations.
