AN ACT concerning

State Conservation Reserve Program -
Participation by Department of Natural Resources

FOR the purpose of authorizing the Department of Natural
Resources to contribute a certain annual expenditure for new
enrollment in the State Conservation Reserve Program in the
State Department of Agriculture; providing certain
limitations and conditions on the amount of money that the
Department of Natural Resources may expend under this Act;
and generally relating to the participation, under certain
limitations and conditions, of the Department of Natural
Resources in the State Conservation Reserve Program.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Agriculture

8-804.

(A)  An amount not to exceed $40,000 in general funds may be
expended each year by the STATE Department OF AGRICULTURE to fund
new enrollment in the State Conservation Reserve Program.

(B)  (1) THE DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES MAY COOPERATE
IN THE FUNDING OF NEW ENROLLMENT IN THE STATE CONSERVATION
RESERVE PROGRAM IN AN AMOUNT NOT EXCEEDING $100 PER ACRE FOR THE
FIRST YEAR ONLY OF PARTICIPATION IN THE PROGRAM, IF THE FARMLAND:
