members to be licensed hearing aid dealers. Ch. 471,
Acts of 1983, subsequently added an exception only for
the consumer member. Nonetheless, it has not been the
practice to require the audiologist and physician
members also to be licensed hearing aid dealers.

In subsection (a)(2)(ii)3 of this section, the
reference to the "American Speech-Language-Hearing
Association" is substituted for the former reference
to the "American Speech and Hearing Association", to
reflect the change in the name of the entity in 1978.

In subsection (a)(2)(iv) of this section, the defined
term "consumer member" is substituted for the former
reference to a "public member", to clarify that this
member is subject to the requirements of Art. 41, §
8-102 of the Code -- now repeated in subsections (c)
and (d) of this section.

In subsection (a)(4) of this section, the word
"Specialist" is added to conform to the. current name
of the Association.

8-203. CHAIRMAN.

THE GOVERNOR SHALL APPOINT 1 MEMBER AS CHAIRMAN OF THE
BOARD.

without substantive change from the third sentence of
former Art. 56, § 523(a).

8-204. MEETINGS; COMPENSATION; STAFF.

(A)  MEETINGS.

THE BOARD SHALL MEET AT LEAST ONCE A YEAR, AT THE TIME AND
PLACE THAT THE BOARD DETERMINES.

(B)  COMPENSATION AND REIMBURSEMENT FOR EXPENSES.

EACH MEMBER OF THE BOARD IS ENTITLED TO:

(1) COMPENSATION IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE STATE BUDGET;
AND
