WHEREAS, The altered rate was to become void at the end of
June 30, 1989 under the terms of Chapter 843; and
WHEREAS, It is the intent of the General Assembly that the
termination date of Chapter 843 be extended; now, therefore,
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Chapter 843 of the Acts of 1986
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1986. It shall remain effective for a period
of [3] 4 5 years and, at the end of June 30, [1989] 1990 1991,
and with no further action required by the General Assembly,
Sections 354D(a), 470E(a), and 477E(a) OF ARTICLE 48A OF THE
ANNOTATED CODE OF MARYLAND as enacted by this Act shall be
abrogated and of no further force and effect. On July 1, [1989]
1990 1991, Sections 354D(a), 470E(a), and 477E(a) OF ARTICLE 48A
OF THE CODE as enacted by this Act shall be revived and the
Michie Publishing Company shall include Sections 354D(a),
470E(a), and 477E(a) [in the Annotated Code of Maryland] as these
sections existed before July 1, 1986, BUT INCLUSIVE OF ALL OTHER
CHANGES ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY AFTER 1986 TO SECTIONS
354D(A), 470E(A), AND 477E(A) OF ARTICLE 48A OF THE CODE.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect June 30, 1989.

AN ACT concerning
Real Property - Construction Contracts
FOR the purpose of requiring certain persons who owe undisputed
amounts under certain construction contracts to make certain
payments within certain time periods; authorizing a court to
award certain relief; providing that the provisions of this
Act do not affect certain rights or apply to certain
transactions and contracts; defining certain terms;
providing for the application of this Act; and generally
relating to construction contracts.
