SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1989.

AN ACT concerning

Baltimore County - Property Tax Credit

Payment Deferral - Fire Sprinklers

BCO 16-89

FOR the purpose of authorizing the Mayor and City Council of
Baltimore City or the governing body of a county Baltimore
County to grant authorize, by law, a property tax credit
payment deferral for certain sprinklers or fire suppression
sprinkler systems; requiring the governing body of Baltimore
County to determine the terms, conditions, and procedures
for the property tax payment deferral under this Act;
providing for the application and termination of this Act;
and generally relating to a property tax payment deferral
for fire sprinklers in Baltimore County.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF BALTIMORE CITY OR THE
GOVERNING BODY OF A COUNTY MAY GRANT, BY LAW, A PROPERTY TAX
CREDIT UNDER THIS SECTION AGAINST THE COUNTY PROPERTY TAX IMPOSED
ON REAL PROPERTY THAT IS IMPROVED BY AN APARTMENT BUILDING IF THE
