LAWS OF MARYLAND

AN ACT concerning

CHAPTER 493
(Senate Bill 597;

Electricians

FOR the purpose of requiring counties to adopt certain
regulations under certain circumstances; requiring municipal
corporations to regulate master electricians, to adopt the
regulations of the counties in which located, or to require
compliance with State laws; describing the effect of a State
master electrician license in certain municipal
corporations; altering provisions that relate to waiver of
examination requirements by the State and local
jurisdiction; allowing reactivation of certain reciprocal
State licenses under certain conditions; allowing electrical
inspectors to have financial interests in certain electrical
businesses; providing a delayed effective date; and altering
a provision governing local permits.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article - Business Occupations

Section 6-301, 6-302(b), 6-307, 6-313(a), 6-602, and

6-603(a) and 6-602
Annotated Code of Maryland

(As enacted by Chapter ____ (S.B. 1) of the

Acts of the General Assembly of 1989)

BY repealing and reenacting, without amendments,

Article - Business Occupations

Section 6-603(a)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(As enacted by Chapter 2 of the

Acts of the General Assembly of 1989)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Business Occupations

6-301.

(A) Each county OR MUNICIPAL CORPORATION shall:

(1) adopt regulations THAT HAVE QUALIFICATIONS
COMPARABLE TO § 6-304, to provide for the licensing and
regulation of master electricians OR ADOPT THE ELECTRICAL RULES
