(ii) 2 members from recommendations of
organizations representing the general business community;
(iii) 2 members from recommendations of
organizations representing agriculture;
(iv) 2 members from recommendations of
organizations representing organized labor;
(v) 7 members who are professionally engaged in
international trade activities, from recommendations of
international trade associations, transportation related trade
organizations and associations with significant interest in the
port of Baltimore or Baltimore Washington International Airport;
and
(vi) 2 members of the general public with an
interest in international trade.
(c)(1) Of the members appointed by the Governor under
subsection (b) of this section, upon the recommendation of
associations or organizations, the Governor is not restricted to
those nominations in appointing members from a specific category.
The Governor shall, however, include at least 1 representative of
a small to medium sized manufacturing company and 1
representative that exports services.
(2) THE GOVERNOR SHALL APPOINT 17 MEMBERS WHO SHALL
BE SELECTED FROM A LIST OF CANDIDATES DEVELOPED BY THE
INTERNATIONAL CABINET FROM RECOMMENDATIONS OF ORGANIZATIONS
ENGAGED IN INTERNATIONAL TRADE, COMMERCE, TOURISM, DIRECT FOREIGN
INVESTMENT, AND RELATED INTERNATIONAL ACTIVITIES.------------------
(3) THE GOVERNOR SHALL APPOINT 2 MEMBERS WHO SHALL BE
ELECTED OFFICIALS OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT OR THEIR DESIGNEES.----------
(2) (C) (1) The terms of those members not serving ex
officio MEMBERS shall be 4 years.
(2) The terms of these members are staggered as
required by the terms of the members on July 1, 1985. A member
may serve no more than 2 terms 1989.
(3) A MEMBER MAY SERVE NOT MORE THAN 2 CONSECUTIVE
TERMS.
(3) (4) Each member of the Council shall serve
without compensation but shall be entitled to reimbursement for
expenses under the Standard State Travel Regulations.
(d) The Council may establish its own procedures and voting
requirements.
