(T) (1) THE SALARY OF THE SHERIFF OF ST. MARY'S COUNTY
SHALL BE $31,000 FOR THE YEARS 1989 AND 1990.

(2) IN 1991 THE SHERIFF'S SALARY SHALL BE $48,000.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, pursuant to
Article III, § 35 of the Constitution of Maryland, this Act may
not be construed to extend or apply to the salary or compensation
of the Sheriff of St. Mary's County in office on the effective
date of this Act, but the provisions of this Act concerning the
salary or compensation of the Sheriff of St. Mary's County shall
take effect at the beginning of the next following term of
office.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1989.

AN ACT concerning

St. Mary's County - Alcoholic Beverages License Requirements

FOR the purpose of requiring, in St. Mary's County, that an
applicant for a county alcoholic beverages license be
fingerprinted; authorizing the St. Mary's County Board of
License Commissioners to obtain certain police records
concerning an applicant for a county alcoholic beverages
license and concerning existing county alcoholic beverages
licensees; requiring the Board to adopt regulations for
preserving the confidentiality of the police records it
obtains and for implementing certain license requirements;
and generally relating to alcoholic beverages license
requirements in St. Mary's County.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
