WILLIAM DONALD SCHAEFER, Governor Ch. 448
(b) A permit is not required for the following:

(1)  Any motor vehicle used exclusively for the
transportation of pupils to and from public or private schools;

(2)  Any motor vehicle used exclusively for hauling
milk to cooling stations or freight platforms in the counties;

(3)  Any motor vehicle (except when used for carriage
of flammables) carrying solid loads of freight owned by a person
who hires the exclusive use of the vehicle, where the load is to
be delivered for only one consignor to one consignee and no
return load is to be carried on the trip for any other consignor
or consignee;

(4)  Any motor vehicle of any farmer or person having
a general hauler's license, used by that person to haul farm
products (other than milk) for his neighbors, where the hauling
constitutes the first movement of the products from farm to
market, and (except in case of transportation of a seasonal
product) is not on regular schedule;

(5)  Any motor vehicle operated for a period of not
more than three months in any registration year in the
transportation of persons employed at a cannery located in any
county in Maryland;

(6)  This subheading does not apply to taxicabs;

(7)  Public transportation for hire authorized to
operate on the boardwalk in the Town of Ocean City, Maryland;

(8)  A vanpool operation as defined in the
Transportation Article;

(9)  Armored vehicles used to transport property which
consists exclusively of coin, currency, stocks, bonds, securities
and negotiable instruments with armed guards in attendance from
point of pickup to point of delivery. Provided, however, that
such armored car carriers shall comply with the provisions of §
31(a), (b) and (c) of this article, except as between fixed
termini as defined in Title 11 of the Transportation Article. A
bank licensed in Maryland may not operate its own armored car
service, either as an individual bank or through a holding
company; [or]

(10)  The public transportation system for Washington
County established pursuant to § 8-41 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Washington County being Article 22 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland[.]; OR

(11)  THE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM FOR ALLEGANY
COUNTY ESTABLISHED UNDER § 23-24 OF THE CODE OF PUBLIC LOCAL LAWS
