transfer, the interest payable thereon, and any income derived

therefrom, including any profit made in the sale or exchange

thereof, shall be and is hereby declared to be exempt from State,

County, and municipal taxation of every kind and nature
whatsoever in the State of Maryland.

SECTION 9. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1989.

AN ACT concerning

Vehicle Laws - Emergency Vehicles - Seat Belts
and Restraining Devices

FOR the purpose of requiring certain emergency vehicles
manufactured and assembled after a certain date to be
equipped with certain approved seat belts or restraining
devices for each position on the vehicle that may be
lawfully occupied by a passenger; providing that the failure
to use a seat belt required under this Act may not be
considered evidence of negligence or contributory negligence
and does not limit the liability of certain parties or
diminish the recovery of certain damages; providing that the
failure to use a seat belt or restraining device under this
Act is not a moving violation; prohibiting the use of
certain testimony relating to the use of seat belts or
restraining devices during a trial of a civil action under
certain circumstances; requiring the court to order separate
trials in civil actions under certain circumstances; and
generally relating to requiring certain emergency vehicles
manufactured and assembled after a certain date to be
equipped with seat belts or restraining devices and to civil
actions concerning these belts or devices.
