LAWS OF MARYLAND

(d)  The Trust shall deposit in the Capital Grant Fund all
moneys which it derives from any property acquired, preserved,
restored, rehabilitated, or reconstructed with moneys from the
Capital Grant Fund.

(e)  The Trust shall include in its annual report to the
Governor and, subject to § 2-1312 of the State Government
Article, to the General Assembly the financial status of the Fund
for the preceding 12-month period.

(f)  By January 1 of each year, the Trust shall investigate
and evaluate all applications received by the Trust for
assistance from the Capital Grant Fund for the following fiscal
year and submit a report to the Governor and the General Assembly
including a list of the eligible applications ranked in order of
statewide priority as determined by Trust evaluation.]

5-613.

(A)  THERE IS A HISTORIC PRESERVATION GRANT PROGRAM OF THE
TRUST, KNOWN AS THE MHT GRANT PROGRAM.

(B)  THE PURPOSE OF THE MHT GRANT PROGRAM IS TO IMPLEMENT
AND ENCOURAGE THE PRESERVATION OF HISTORIC PROPERTIES AS WELL AS
PROMOTE INTEREST IN AND STUDY OF SUCH MATTERS.

(C)  THE TRUST SHALL:

(1)  MANAGE, SUPERVISE, AND ADMINISTER THE MHT GRANT
PROGRAM; AND

(2)  COORDINATE THE MHT GRANT PROGRAM WITH FEDERAL OR
STATE PROGRAMS THAT COMPLEMENT OR FACILITATE CARRYING OUT THE MHT
GRANT PROGRAM.

(D)  THE MHT GRANT FUND MAY BE USED FOR THE FOLLOWING
PURPOSES:

(1)  TO MAKE GRANTS TO NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS, LOCAL
JURISDICTIONS, BUSINESS ENTITIES, AND INDIVIDUALS FOR THE PURPOSE
OF ACQUIRING, REHABILITATING, OR RESTORING HISTORIC PROPERTIES;

(2)  TO MAKE GRANTS TO NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS AND
LOCAL JURISDICTIONS FOR THE PURPOSE OF FINANCING COSTS DIRECTLY
RELATED TO A REHABILITATION OR RESTORATION PROJECT, WHICH COSTS
MAY INCLUDE MAY INCLUDE THE COSTS OF STUDIES, SURVEYS, PLANS AND
SPECIFICATIONS, AND ARCHITECTURAL, ENGINEERING, OR OTHER SPECIAL
SERVICES;

(3)  TO MAKE GRANTS TO NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS AND
LOCAL JURISDICTIONS FOR THE PURPOSE OF FUNDING HISTORIC
PRESERVATION EDUCATION AND PROMOTION, INCLUDING THE RESEARCH,
SURVEY, AND EVALUATION OF HISTORIC PROPERTIES AND THE PREPARATION
