AN ACT concerning

Department of Housing and Community Development -
Division of Community Assistance

FOR the purpose of reorganizing and clarifying technical
organization matters under the Division of Community
Assistance; specifying certain entities which are included
in and functions of the Division of Community Assistance;
naming the Community Assistance Administration as an
administrative unit in the Division and transferring to it
the functions placed under the Division as a whole by
previous legislation; renaming the definition of "community
development" to "community assistance"; clarifying language
regarding the provision of security under the State Action
Loans for Targeted Areas Program; modifying and clarifying
certain duties of the Maryland Energy Office; including
heating oil storage for State use and the State's
preparedness for, and management of, general energy
emergencies; renumbering certain provisions of Article 83B
of the Annotated Code of Maryland; making certain provisions
of this Act subject to a certain contingency contingencies;
and generally relating to the Division of Community
Assistance.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 83B - Department of Housing and Community

Development
Section 4-101 and 4-607(b); and the amended title "Title 7.

Energy Overcharge Restitution Trust Fund"
Annotated Code of Maryland

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments, and renumbering

Article 83B - Department of Housing and Community

Development
Section 4-102 and 4-201 and the subtitle "Subtitle

2. Functions and Responsibilities"; and 7-101

through 7-103, respectively
to be Section 4-201 and 4-202 under the amended subtitle

"Subtitle 2. Community Assistance Administration";

and 4-701 through 4-703 under the new subtitle

"Subtitle 7. Maryland Energy Office", respectively
