SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1989.

Contract Liens - Notice and Filing Requirements

given served by certain mail and personal delivery or

posting; requiring the claimant to file contract lien

statements within a certain time after certain time periods;

and generally relating to notice and filing of contract
liens.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

14-203.

(a) (1) A party seeking to create a lien as the result of a
breach of contract shall, within 2 years of a breach of contract,
give written notice to the party against whose property the lien
is intended to be imposed.
