(5)  KEEP A DAILY RECORD OF THE ATTENDANCE OF EACH
STUDENT;

(6)  REQUIRE ITS STUDENTS TO TAKE EXAMINATIONS;

(7)  ESTABLISH A GRADING SYSTEM;

(8)  ISSUE A DIPLOMA TO EACH STUDENT WHO SUCCESSFULLY
COMPLETES A TRAINING PROGRAM; AND

(9)  BE NAMED SO AS TO DESIGNATE THAT IT IS A
COSMETOLOGY SCHOOL.

(B)  CREDIT FOR OTHER TRAINING.

A SCHOOL OF COSMETOLOGY SHALL GIVE CREDIT TOWARD MEETING THE
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS FOR A LICENSE TO PRACTICE COSMETOLOGY SET
FORTH UNDER § 5-304 OF THIS TITLE AS FOLLOWS:

(1)  A JOURNEY BARBER OR MASTER BARBER CURRENTLY
LICENSED IN THE STATE SHALL BE CREDITED WITH HAVING MET ONE HALF
OF THE TRAINING REQUIREMENT; AND

(2)  AN INDIVIDUAL WHO HAS BEEN ENROLLED IN A
COSMETOLOGY SCHOOL THAT THE OFFICE OF DEPENDENTS' EDUCATION OF
THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE OPERATES SHALL BE GIVEN
CREDIT ON AN HOUR-FOR-HOUR BASIS.

(C)  COURSES OFFERED.

(1)  A SCHOOL OF COSMETOLOGY MAY OFFER COURSES TO
PREPARE STUDENTS TO ENGAGE IN ANY ACTIVITY THAT CONSTITUTES
PRACTICING COSMETOLOGY.

(2)  A SCHOOL OF COSMETOLOGY MAY OFFER REFRESHER
COURSES FOR INDIVIDUALS LICENSED BY THE BOARD.

(3)  A SCHOOL OF COSMETOLOGY MAY OFFER BOTH FULL-TIME
AND PART-TIME PROGRAMS OF TRAINING.

(D)  HOURS.

A SCHOOL OF COSMETOLOGY MAY OPERATE DURING THE DAY AND
EVENING EACH MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from former Art. 56, §
485(a)(1) through (5) and (6)(ii) and (iii), (c), (f),
(g), and, as it related to schools of cosmetology,
(b). As to its revision as on-going requirements, see
the revisor's note to § 5-512 of this subtitle.
