(F) Approved mileage expenses shall be reimbursed at the
rate authorized under the [state standard travel regulations]
STANDARD STATE TRAVEL REGULATIONS.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, pursuant to
Article III, § 35 of the Constitution of Maryland, this Act may
not be construed to extend or apply to the salary or compensation
of the Cecil County State's Attorney County Treasurer of Cecil
County, Sheriff of Cecil County, and members of the Board of
County Commissioners of Cecil County in office on the effective
date of this Act, but the provisions of this Act concerning the
salary or compensation of the Cecil County State's Attorney
County Treasurer of Cecil County, and Board of County
Commissioners of Cecil County shall take effect at the beginning
of the next following term of office.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1989.

AN ACT concerning

Cecil County - Sheriff's Department - Employees

FOR the purpose of authorizing the Sheriff of Cecil County to
appoint employees of the Sheriff's Department, including a
Chief Deputy Sheriff, a Community Adult Rehabilitation
Center Administrator, a Detention Center Director, law
enforcement personnel, and a personal secretary to the
Sheriff; providing that the Chief Deputy Sheriff serves,
Community Adult Rehabilitation Center Administrator,
Detention Center Director, law enforcement personnel
appointed by the Sheriff, and personal secretary to the
Sheriff serve at the pleasure of the Sheriff; providing for
a probationary period and the applicability of certain
county personnel policies and regulations for certain
employees of the Sheriff's Department; providing for the
construction of this Act; and generally relating to the
employees of the Sheriff's Department of Cecil County.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
