5-511. QUALIFICATIONS OF SCHOOL PERMIT APPLICANTS.

(A)   IN GENERAL.

TO QUALIFY FOR A SCHOOL PERMIT, AN APPLICANT SHALL MEET THE
REQUIREMENTS OF THIS SECTION.

(B)  OWNERSHIP.

AN APPLICANT SHALL OWN OR LEASE THE COSMETOLOGY SCHOOL FOR
WHICH THE APPLICATION IS MADE.

(C)  SCHOOL OF COSMETOLOGY.

AN APPLICANT FOR A SCHOOL PERMIT FOR A SCHOOL OF COSMETOLOGY
SHALL SATISFY THE BOARD THAT THE SCHOOL FOR WHICH THE APPLICATION
IS MADE WILL BE OPERATED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE STANDARDS
SPECIFIED IN §§ 5-512 AND 5-513 OF THIS SUBTITLE.

(D)  POSTGRADUATE SCHOOL OF COSMETOLOGY.

AN APPLICANT FOR A SCHOOL PERMIT FOR A POSTGRADUATE SCHOOL
OF COSMETOLOGY SHALL SATISFY THE BOARD THAT THE SCHOOL FOR WHICH
THE APPLICATION IS MADE WILL BE OPERATED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
STANDARDS SPECIFIED IN § 5-514 OF THIS SUBTITLE.

(E)  INSPECTION.

AS A CONDITION OF THE ISSUANCE OF A SCHOOL PERMIT, THE
COSMETOLOGY SCHOOL FOR WHICH THE APPLICATION IS MADE SHALL PASS
THE INSPECTION, IF ANY, CONDUCTED UNDER § 5-521 OF THIS SUBTITLE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: Subsection (a) of this section is standard
language added to state the general requirements for
an applicant for a school permit.

Subsection (b) of this section is new language derived
without substantive change from former Art. 56, §
479(i), as that subsection related to schools, and the
first clause of the first sentence of § 480(d), as
that clause related to ownership.
