AN ACT concerning

Retirement and Pension Systems - Preretirement Counseling

FOR the purpose of clarifying that members of each of the
Maryland State retirement and pensions systems Retirement and
Pension Systems shall be provided with certain preretirement
counseling services; and generally relating to the Maryland
State Retirement and Pension Systems.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 73B - Pensions

20A.

All [State employees under] MEMBERS OF the retirement system
shall be provided with a preretirement counseling service
regarding retirement benefits. The counseling also shall be
available to the spouse or members of the immediate family of a
retiree, with the consent of the retiree.
