WILLIAM DONALD SCHAEFER, Governor

Ch. 3

EXPIRES;

(2) A NOTICE THAT STATES:

(I) THE DATE ON WHICH THE CURRENT PERMIT

(II)  THE DATE BY WHICH THE BOARD MUST RECEIVE
THE RENEWAL APPLICATION FOR THE RENEWAL TO BE ISSUED AND MAILED
BEFORE THE PERMIT EXPIRES; AND

(III)  THE AMOUNT OF THE RENEWAL FEE.

(C)  APPLICATIONS FOR RENEWAL.

BEFORE A BEAUTY SALON PERMIT EXPIRES, THE BEAUTY SALON
PERMIT HOLDER PERIODICALLY MAY RENEW IT FOR AN ADDITIONAL 2-YEAR
TERM, IF THE HOLDER:

(1)  OTHERWISE IS ENTITLED TO HOLD THE PERMIT;

(2)  PAYS TO THE BOARD A RENEWAL FEE OF $50; AND

(3)  SUBMITS TO THE BOARD A RENEWAL APPLICATION ON THE
FORM THAT THE BOARD PROVIDES.

(D)  ISSUANCE OF RENEWAL.

THE BOARD SHALL RENEW THE BEAUTY SALON PERMIT OF AND ISSUE A
RENEWAL CERTIFICATE TO EACH BEAUTY SALON PERMIT HOLDER WHO MEETS
THE REQUIREMENTS OF THIS SECTION.

REVISOR'S NOTE: Subsections (a) and (c)(2) and (3) of this
section are new language derived without substantive
change from item (a) of the second sentence of former
Art. 56, § 500, as that item related to renewal fees,
and the second sentence of § 501(a) and, except for
the reference to students, the first sentence of (b).

Subsection (b) of this section is new language added
to conform to the practice of the Board and to similar
provisions governing other State-regulated business
occupations. In light of this addition, in subsection
(c)(3) of this section, the former phrase "on request"
is deleted. As with other occupational boards in the
Department, the Board automatically sends renewal
notices and applications to permit holders.

Subsection (c)(1) of this section is standard language
added for clarity.

Subsection (d) of this section is standard language
added to state expressly that which only was implied
in the former law -- i.e., the Board must renew the
permit of a qualified applicant.
