5-502. QUALIFICATIONS OF APPLICANTS FOR BEAUTY SALON PERMITS.

(A)  IN GENERAL.

TO QUALIFY FOR A BEAUTY SALON PERMIT, AN APPLICANT SHALL
MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF THIS SECTION.

(B)  OWNERSHIP.

AN APPLICANT SHALL OWN OR LEASE THE BEAUTY SALON FOR 'WHICH
THE APPLICATION IS MADE.

(C)  MANAGEMENT.

AN APPLICANT FOR AN OWNER-MANAGER PERMIT SHALL:

(1)  BE LICENSED TO MANAGE A BEAUTY SALON; AND

(2)  MANAGE THE BEAUTY SALON FOR WHICH THE APPLICATION
IS MADE.

(D)   INSPECTION.

AS A CONDITION OF THE ISSUANCE OF A BEAUTY SALON PERMIT, THE
BEAUTY SALON FOR WHICH THE APPLICATION IS MADE SHALL PASS THE
INSPECTION, IF ANY, CONDUCTED UNDER § 5-521 OF THIS SUBTITLE.

(E)  ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS.

THE APPLICANT SHALL MEET ANY OTHER REQUIREMENTS THAT THE
BOARD SETS, BY REGULATION, FOR APPLICANTS FOR BEAUTY SALON
PERMITS.

REVISOR'S NOTE: Subsection (a) of this section is new
language added to introduce the basic requirements for
an applicant for a beauty salon permit.

Subsection (b) of this section is new language derived
without substantive change from former Art. 56, §
479(i), as that subsection related to beauty shops,
and the first and third sentences of § 480(c), as
those sentences related to ownership of the beauty
salon.

Subsection (c) of this section is new language derived
without substantive change from the third sentence of
former Art. 56, § 480(c), as that sentence related to
management.
