SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

ARTICLE - BUSINESS OCCUPATIONS

TITLE 1. DEFINITIONS; GENERAL PROVISIONS.

SUBTITLE 1. DEFINITIONS.

1-101. DEFINITIONS.

(A)   IN GENERAL.

IN THIS ARTICLE THE FOLLOWING WORDS HAVE THE MEANINGS
INDICATED.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new     language that

combines, without substantive change,   former Art. 56,

§ 543(a), former Art. 56A, § l-101(a),   and former Art.
75A, § l-101(a).

The word "article", which appeared in former Art. 56A,
§ l-101(a) and former Art. 75A, § l-101(a), is
retained, although the word is broader in the context
of this subsection than in either of those former
subsections. Thus, this subsection makes the
definitions in subsections (b) through (g) of this
section applicable to provisions to which those
definitions formerly did not apply. However, the
definitions generally are nonsubstantive and intended
solely to allow concise and standardized references.
Therefore, no substantive change is intended.

(B)  CONSUMER MEMBER.

"CONSUMER MEMBER" MEANS A NONPROFESSIONAL MEMBER OF A
REGULATORY BOARD WHO IS APPOINTED FROM THE GENERAL PUBLIC.

There are no changes.

(C)  COUNTY.

"COUNTY" MEANS A COUNTY OF THE STATE AND, UNLESS EXPRESSLY
PROVIDED OTHERWISE, BALTIMORE CITY.
