WILLIAM DONALD SCHAEFER, Governor Ch. 286

FOR the purpose of altering the penalties for using children to
distribute certain substances; providing that a person who
manufactures, dispenses, distributes, or possesses with
intent to distr
ibute certain controlled dangerous

substances, or who conspires to commit these offenses is
guilty of a felony if certain activities are conducted
within a certain distance of or on real property used for
certain school purposes or on a school vehicle under certain
circumstances; establishing certain penalties; defining
certain terms; establishing a procedure to determine the
boundaries of school property; permitting local school
boards to adopt regulations requiring the posting of certain
signs; and generally relating to establishing certain
offenses related to controlled dangerous substances on or
near certain property used for school purposes.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 27 - Crimes and Punishments

286.

(a) Except as authorized by this subheading, it is unlawful
for any person:

(1) To manufacture, distribute, or dispense, or to
possess a controlled dangerous substance in sufficient quantity
