(B) N0TWITHSTANDING ANYTHING TO THE CONTRARY IN THIS
SUBTITLE, THE MARYLAND HOUSING FUND MAY INSURE BRIDGE LOANS FOR A
PORTION OF THE DEVELOPMENT COSTS OF RENTAL HOUSING PROJECTS THAT
ARE AWARDED FEDERAL LOW INCOME HOUSING TAX CREDITS, WHICH LOANS
ARE SECURED BY PERSONAL RATHER THAN REAL PROPERTY.
(C) INSURANCE ISSUED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THIS SECTION MAY
NOT EXCEED AN AGGREGATE PRINCIPAL LOAN AMOUNT OF $30 MILLION.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section(s)
2-302(g) through (u) (r), respectively, of Article 83B -
Department of Housing and Community Development of the Annotated
Code of Maryland be renumbered to be Section(s) 2-302(f) through
(t) (q), respectively.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the provisions
of Article 83B, § 2-307(d), which were enacted originally as
Article 41, § 11-702(g)(4) by Chapter 287 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of 1987, and which, by virtue of that Chapter
287 would be automatically abrogated on June 30, 1989, are hereby
enacted permanently.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the provisions
of Article 83B, § 2-307(d), which were enacted originally as
Article 41, § 11-702(g)(4) by Chapter 287 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of 1987, and which, by virtue of Chapter 287 of
the Acts of 1987, would be automatically abrogated on June 30,
1989, are hereby enacted by this Act, effective only until June
30, 1990.
SECTION 4. 3 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the repeal
of Article 83B, § 2-309 made through this Act and the changes to
Article 83B, § 2-302(p) pertaining to the Minimum Livability Code
Program made through this Act shall take effect July 1, 1990, and
the changes to Article 83B, § 2-302(p) not pertaining to the
Minimum Livability Code Program, and §§ 2-302(c), (m), and (u),
2-303(a), (d), (e), (f), (g), (i), (j), and (l), 2-307(a) and
(b), and 2-313(i) and (j) made through this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1989. Laws of Maryland read as follows:

(p)(1) "Rehabilitation project" means the repair,
reconstruction, renovation, redevelopment, improvement,
modification of, or addition to an existing building in order:
(i) To bring the building to a decent, safe,
and sanitary condition in accordance with applicable
