LAWS OF MARYLAND

The Public Local Laws of Garrett County

Section 20-3

Article 12 - Public Local Laws of Maryland

(1985 Edition and December 1985 Supplement, as amended)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 12 - Garrett County

[20-3.

The County Commissioners of Garrett County shall meet in
regular session one (1) day of each week, with the meeting day to
be appropriately advertised in advance, and remain in session so
long as may be necessary to properly transact the business of the
county. In addition, each Commissioner shall devote two (2) days
of each week to carrying out the duties of the office.]

20-3.

A.  THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS SHALL MEET IN REGULAR SESSION 1
DAY EACH WEEK AND SHALL REMAIN IN SESSION AS LONG AS NECESSARY
FOR THE COMPLETION OF PENDING BUSINESS.

B.  THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS SHALL GIVE REASONABLE ADVANCE
NOTICE OF COUNTY COMMISSIONER SESSIONS.

C.  THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS SHALL SPEND 1 DAY EACH WEEK IN
THE OFFICES OF THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS TO CARRY OUT
ADMINISTRATIVE FUNCTIONS.

D.  THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS SHALL SPEND AT LEAST 1
ADDITIONAL DAY EACH WEEK DEVOTED TO CARRYING OUT THE DUTIES OF
THE OFFICE.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1989.
