(iv) The transportation of all legally detained
persons; and

(v) Neither the Sheriff of Prince George's

County nor any of his deputies shall conduct criminal

investigations, except in matters concerning the Sheriff's
department or upon request of the courts.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, pursuant to
Article III, § 35 of the Constitution of Maryland, this Act may
not be construed to extend or apply to the salary or compensation
of the Sheriff of Prince George's County in office on the
effective date of this Act, but the provisions of this Act
concerning the salary or compensation of the Sheriff of Prince
George's County shall take effect at the beginning of the next
following term of office.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1989.

AN ACT concerning

Garrett County - County Commissioners

FOR the purpose of requiring the Garrett County Commissioners to
spend a certain period of time each week in the offices of
the County Commissioners to carry out administrative
functions; requiring the County Commissioners to spend a
certain additional time devoted to the duties of office;
clarifying language; and generally relating to the duties of
the Garrett County Commissioners.
