LAWS OF MARYLAND

SHALL BE PAID INTO THE FUND. ANY REPAYMENT OF PRINCIPAL OR
INTEREST ON A LOAN FROM THE FUND SHALL BE PAID INTO THE FUND.

SECTION 5. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, subject to the
provisions of Sections 3 and 4 of this Act, this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1989.

AN ACT concerning

Alcoholic Beverages - Furnishing to Underaged Person

FOR the purpose of amending a certain exception to a certain
provision of law prohibiting the furnishing of alcoholic
beverages for consumption by certain persons.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 27 - Crimes and Punishments

401A.

(a) Except as provided in subsection (b) of this section, a
person may not furnish any alcoholic beverage to another person
if:

(1)  The person furnishing the beverage knows that the
person is under 21 years of age; and

(2)  The alcoholic beverage is furnished for the
purpose of consumption by the person under 21 years of age.
