IMPLEMENT THIS SUBTITLE ON OR BEFORE OCTOBER 1, 1989.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1989.

AN ACT concerning

State Police - Information on Racial, Religious,
or Ethnic Incidents

FOR the purpose of requiring local law enforcement agencies and
the State Fire Marshal to provide certain information on
racial, religious, or ethnic incidents to the Maryland State
Police; and requiring the Maryland State Police to adopt
procedures for the collection and analysis of this
information.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 88B - State Police

9.

(b) (1) The Department shall collect and analyze
information relating to incidents apparently directed against
racial, religious, or ethnic groups.

from all local law-enforcement agencies and from the State Fire
