Ch. 3

(1)  PROVIDES ADEQUATE TRAINING AND COMPETENT
INSTRUCTION TO STUDENTS;

(2)  IS OPERATED IN A SANITARY MANNER; AND

(3)  IS MANAGED EFFECTIVELY.

(B)  NUMBER OF STUDENTS.

THE BOARD MAY ADOPT REGULATIONS TO RESTRICT THE NUMBER OF
STUDENTS ATTENDING EACH BARBER SCHOOL TO ENSURE THAT STUDENTS
RECEIVE ADEQUATE TRAINING AND COMPETENT INSTRUCTION.

(C)  SUBJECTS IN CURRICULA.

SUBJECT TO APPROVAL BY THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION, THE
BOARD MAY ADOPT REGULATIONS THAT SPECIFY SUBJECTS IN THE
CURRICULA OF BARBER SCHOOLS.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from former Art. 56, §
437(d).

In subsections (a) and (b) of this section, the former
words "reasonable and necessary", "as it may deem
proper", and "when deemed necessary" are deleted as
unnecessary in light of the word "may". In any event,
the Secretary has general supervisory responsibility
over the exercise of powers, § 4-209 of this title,
but particularly over rulemaking. See Art. 41, §§
1-202 and 8-104(b) of the Code.

4-522. INSPECTIONS.

(A) INSPECTORS.

(1)  WITH THE APPROVAL OF THE SECRETARY, THE BOARD MAY
APPOINT INSPECTORS TO CONDUCT INSPECTIONS.

(2)  AN INSPECTOR SERVES AT THE PLEASURE OF THE BOARD.

(3)  SUBJECT TO THE STATE BUDGET, EACH INSPECTOR IS
ENTITLED TO:

(I)  COMPENSATION OF $40 FOR EACH DAY ON WHICH
THE INSPECTOR IS ENGAGED IN THE DUTIES OF THE INSPECTOR'S
APPOINTMENT; AND

(II)  REIMBURSEMENT FOR EXPENSES UNDER THE
STANDARD STATE TRAVEL REGULATIONS.
