(2) THE BOARD MAY PRORATE THE FEE FOR THE INITIAL
TERM OF A SCHOOL PERMIT.

(C) ISSUANCE.

ON PAYMENT OF THE SCHOOL PERMIT FEE, THE BOARD SHALL ISSUE A
SCHOOL PERMIT TO EACH APPLICANT WHO MEETS THE REQUIREMENTS OF
THIS SUBTITLE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: Subsection (a) of this section is new
language added to state expressly that the Board must
give notice to qualified applicants. This addition
conforms to current practice of the Board.

Subsection (b) of this section is new language derived
without substantive change from the third sentence
and, as it related to a license fee, the first
sentence of former Art. 56, § 437(c) and the first
sentence of § 439(d) and, as it related to a barber
school license, (a)(7).

Subsection (c) of this section is new language derived
without substantive change from the second sentence of
former Art. 56, § 437(b), as that sentence related to
issuance of a permit to a qualified applicant.

4-516. SCOPE OF SCHOOL PERMITS.

WHILE A SCHOOL PERMIT IS IN EFFECT, IT AUTHORIZES THE SCHOOL
PERMIT HOLDER TO OPERATE A BARBER SCHOOL.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is a standard provision added
for clarity.

4-517. TERM AND RENEWAL OF SCHOOL PERMITS.

(A) TERM OF PERMIT.

UNLESS A SCHOOL PERMIT IS RENEWED FOR A 2-YEAR TERM AS
PROVIDED IN THIS SECTION, THE SCHOOL PERMIT EXPIRES ON THE FIRST
MAY 31 THAT COMES:

(1)  AFTER THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THE PERMIT; AND

(2)   IN AN ODD-NUMBERED YEAR.
