take effect July 1, 1989.

AN ACT concerning

Carroll County - State's Attorney - Salary

FOR the purpose of altering the salary of the State's Attorney
for Carroll County; requiring the State's Attorney to
devote full time to the duties of office; providing that
this Act does not apply to the salary or compensation or
time required of the incumbent State's Attorney; and
clarifying language.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 10 - Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in Fact

40.

(a) The State's Attorneys in the several counties of the
State shall receive annually the respective salaries set forth
for performing the duties required of them by their respective
public local laws and by the public general laws, and such
expenses as are provided by law and by the current practice in
the several counties. The State's Attorneys shall receive annual
payments for office, traveling and other expenses. All payments
