(i) In accordance with the Law-Enforcement
Officers' Bill of Rights, if the employee's rights are covered
under this bill of rights; or
(ii) In accordance with the personnel rules and
regulations of the Carroll County Sheriff's department, if the
employee's rights are not covered under the Law-Enforcement
Officers' Bill of Rights.
(3) Except for an appeal taken pursuant to the
Law-Enforcement Officers' Bill of Rights, an appeal by an
aggrieved party shall be taken to the Circuit Court for Carroll
County.
Article - Estates and Trusts
2-101.
In the estates of decedents law, the word court means the
orphans' court in a county, or the court exercising the
jurisdiction of the orphans' court in a county.
2-108.
(a) Except in Montgomery and Harford counties, the judges
of the courts shall receive compensation and allowances as
prescribed by law. Unless otherwise provided, the compensation
shall be paid in monthly installments. Mileage or travel
expenses may not be allowed to a judge for attending sessions of
his court except as specifically provided.
(h) Each of the judges of the court for Carroll County
shall receive an annual compensation of [$5,000] $6,500 to be
paid monthly. Each judge shall also be allowed $100 annually for
traveling expenses, payable quarterly.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, pursuant to
Article III, Section 35 of the Constitution of Maryland, this Act
may not be construed to extend or apply to the salary or
compensation of the County Commissioners, orphans' court judges,
or Sheriff of Carroll County in office on the effective date of
this Act, but the provisions of this Act concerning the salary or
compensation of the County Commissioners, orphans' court judges,
and Sheriff of Carroll County shall take effect at the beginning
of the next following term of office.
