AN ACT concerning

St. Mary's County - Economic Development Commission

FOR the purpose of abolishing the Economic Development Commission
of St. Mary's County; requiring the County Commissioners of
St. Mary's County to continue to pay a certain retirement
benefit to a certain individual; and generally relating to
provisions of law relating to the Economic Development
Commission of St. Mary's County.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 19 - St. Mary's County

[26-17.

A. Created; purposes. The Economic Development Commission
of St. Mary's County is created for the purpose of advancing the
general welfare of the people through programs and activities to
develop St. Mary's County's natural resources and economic
opportunities pertaining to commerce, agriculture, forestry,
transportation, travel, tourism and recreation; and to cooperate
and offer assistance to existing industries and businesses; and
to promote and encourage the establishing and locating of new
industries and businesses in St. Mary's County and other matters
intended to foster and develop gainful employment and the pursuit
of happiness of all who are now or may hereafter be residents of
St. Mary's County.
