SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 25 - County Commissioners

51.

(r) The annual salary of the county treasurer of Somerset
County is [$18,500] $25,000.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, pursuant to
Article III, § 35 of the Constitution of Maryland, this Act may
not be construed to extend or apply to the salary or compensation
of the Somerset County Treasurer in office on the effective date
of this Act, but the provisions of this Act concerning the salary
or compensation of the Somerset County Treasurer shall take
effect at the beginning of the next following term of office.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1989.

AN ACT concerning

Wicomico County - State's Attorney's Salary

FOR the purpose of altering the salary of the Wicomico County
State's Attorney; and providing that the salary increase
does not affect the incumbent State's Attorney.
