C. The salary for the Charles County Commissioners [shall
be as follows] IS:
(1) [Nineteen thousand dollars ($19,000.) per year]
$23,500 for the calendar year [1987.] 1991;
(2) [Twenty thousand dollars ($20,000.) per year]
$25,000 for the calendar year [1988.] 1992;
(3) [Twenty-one thousand dollars ($21,000.) per year]
$26,500 for the calendar year [1989.] 1993; AND
(4) [Twenty-two thousand dollars ($22,000.) per year]
$28,000 for the calendar year [1990] 1994.
D. The County Commissioners [shall] MAY NOT receive [no]
mileage for attending regular meetings on Tuesday and Wednesday
of any week, but shall be reimbursed for mileage, tolls and
parking expenses incurred in travel to other meetings in
connection with their duties as County Commissioners.
Reimbursement shall be made upon the submission of vouchers for
the expenses monthly and after the approval of the vouchers by
[the three (3)] A MAJORITY OF THE County Commissioners.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the salaries for
the President of the County Commissioners and the other County
Commissioners specified in Chapter 420 of 1985 shall remain in
effect for the remainder of the current term.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, pursuant to
Article III, Section 35 of the Constitution of Maryland, this Act
may not be construed to extend or apply to the salary or
compensation of the President of the County Commissioners and
other County Commissioners in office on the effective date of
this Act, but the provisions of this Act concerning the salary or
compensation of the President of the County Commissioners and
other County Commissioners shall take effect at the beginning of
the next following term of office.
SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1989.
