case of] FOR any conviction or convictions under this section
subsequent to the second, [such] THE person [or persons, body
politic or corporate] shall be fined on each occasion a sum of at
least double that imposed upon him, her, them or it on the last
preceding conviction.[; and if a] A natural person[,] shall be
imprisoned not less than [thirty] 30 nor more than [sixty] 60
days [in the discretion of the court; all]. ALL fines to be
imposed under this section shall be paid to the State.
Notwithstanding anything to the contrary the provisions of this
section [shall] DO not apply:
(1) To any person who conscientiously believes that
the seventh day of the week ought to be observed as the Sabbath
and who actually refrains from secular business and labor on that
day, and whose business establishment or establishments or
employer's business establishment or establishments (whether a
sole proprietorship, partnership or corporation) are actually
closed on that day; or
(2) To any person who conscientiously believes that
the Sabbath begins at sundown on Friday night and ends at sundown
on Saturday night and who actually refrains from secular business
and labor during [such] THAT period, and whose business
establishment or establishments or employer's business
establishment or establishments (whether a sole proprietorship,
partnership or corporation) are actually closed during such
period.

Nothing contained in §§ 492 and 522 of this article shall be
construed to prohibit or make unlawful the exhibition within
Wicomico County of baseball and motion pictures between the hours
of 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. and midnight, or the
operation within Wicomico County of any bowling alley, tenpin
alley, or duckpin alley between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 7:00
p.m. and 9:00 p.m. and midnight, on the first day of the week,
commonly called Sunday, whether the same be exhibited with or
without a charge or admission fee; provided, however, that all
baseball and motion pictures exhibited and all bowling alleys,
tenpin alleys, or duckpin alleys operated shall be subject to all
provisions of law relating to licensing and censorship applicable
to baseball and motion picture exhibitions and to bowling alley,
tenpin alley, or duckpin alley operations on weekdays. The work
or employment of any operator, ticket seller or any other
employees or attendants in connection with any such exhibition of
baseball and motion pictures or any such operation of a bowling
alley, tenpin alley, or duckpin alley shall not be unlawful
because performed on Sundays. Any exhibition of motion pictures
and baseball or operation of bowling alleys, tenpin alleys, or
duckpin alleys on Sundays, except as hereby authorized, shall be
unlawful and subject to the provision and penalties of said §§
492 and 522 of this article.
