SECTION [3] 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1988.

Chapter 440 of the Acts of 1988
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the [Board of
Medical Examiners] STATE BOARD OF PHYSICIAN QUALITY ASSURANCE
shall be authorized to issue a certificate of temporary authority
to any individual employed as a medical radiation technologist or
a nuclear medical technologist as of January 1, 1988. A
certificate of temporary certification issued in accordance with
the provisions of this Act shall be valid until July 1, 1991.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the [Board of
Medical Examiners] STATE BOARD OF PHYSICIAN QUALITY ASSURANCE
shall adopt standards specifying radiological procedures that may
be performed by individuals who are issued a certificate of
temporary certification under Section 2 of this Act.
SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the [Board of
Medical Examiners] STATE BOARD OF PHYSICIAN QUALITY ASSURANCE
shall develop, by July 1, 1989, a permanent certification
examination that is designed to evaluate minimum cognitive skills
and technical proficiency for uncertified individuals employed,
as of January 1, 1988, as medical radiation technologists or
nuclear medical technologists. The test developed under this
section shall be utilized by the Board until July 1, 1991.

Chapter 565 of the Acts of 1986
SECTION [2.] 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1986. It shall remain effective for a
period of 4 years and, at the end of June 30, 1990 and with no
further action required by the General Assembly, this Act shall
be abrogated and of no further force and effect.
