Council; and
(t) [Four] ELEVEN members who have demonstrated
concern, interest and/or knowledge in the area of criminal
justice.
(2) Terms. The terms of the members of the Advisory
Board are co-extensive with the term of the Governor, and
until their successors are duly chosen; however, the
Governor may remove such a member for any cause adversely
affecting the member's ability or willingness to perform his
or her duties.
(3) Chair/Vice Chairman. The Governor shall select the
Chair and Vice Chair of the Advisory Board.
(4) Quorum. A majority of the Advisory Board shall
constitute a quorum for the transaction of any business.
(5) Board/Compensation/Reimbursement. The members may
not receive any compensation for their services. The
members may be reimbursed for their reasonable expenses
incurred in the performance of their duties in accordance
with the standard travel regulations, and as provided by
State budget.
(6) Duties and Responsibilities of the Advisory Board.
The Advisory Board shall have the following duties and
responsibilities:
(a) The Advisory Board shall, as mandated by
Federal Legislation, assist the Executive Director in
developing the necessary State strategy to support the
State's application for federal programs in the area of the
administration of justice. The Advisory Board shall review
and make recommendations to the Executive Director on all
request for funds, grants, and services chosen by the Office
for administration or combined planning.
(b) The Advisory Board shall become cognizant of
and evaluate State and local problems in the area of the
administration of justice and shall make recommendations to
the Governor which will identify more effective measures to
combat these problems.
(c) The Advisory Board shall undertake and perform
such other duties and functions in the area of the
administration of justice as may, from time to time, be
assigned to it by the Governor, or which may be necessary
for it to carry out the provisions of this Executive Order.
(7) Rules. The Advisory Board may adopt rules
consistent with this Executive Order.
