Governor's Advisory Board for Justice Assistance;
(iii) Monitor and audit these programs
pursuant to the enabling federal act in accordance with
Federal Legislation; and
(iv) Consult with the Governor's Advisory
Board for Justice Assistance in order to develop the
required State strategy required by the federal acts.
(b) (i) The Executive Director shall evaluate
State and local problems in the area of the administration
of justice.
(ii) In carrying out this function, the
Executive Director shall consult and work with governmental
agencies, at the State and local level, in order to perform
needs assessments and provide assistance in planning to
insure the efficient use of funds, personnel, and other
resources and to avoid duplication in this activity, and
shall act as a clearing house for information in these
areas.
(c) The Executive Director shall be available to
advise the Governor on criminal justice budget requests to
insure a properly developed State justice assistance
program.
(d) The Executive Director shall be available to
advise the Governor on legislation in the area of the
administration of justice.
(e) The Executive Director shall be available to
serve as the Governor's representative on any national,
federal, State, or local board or body in the area of the
administration of justice.
(f) The Executive Director shall continue to serve
on the Criminal Justice Information Advisory board in the
same capacity as designated by prior Executive Order.
(g) The Executive Director shall undertake and
perform such other duties and functions in the area of the
administration of justice as may, from time to time, be
assigned to that Office by the Governor, or which may be
necessary for that Office to carry out the provisions of
this Executive Order.
B. Governor's Advisory Board for Justice Assistance.
(1) Creation and Composition. The Governor's Advisory
Board for Justice Assistance is created as part of the
Executive Department. The Board consists of [23] THIRTY
persons, appointed by the Governor, and shall include:
