take effect July 1, 1988.

Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland
Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill 408.

This bill alters the name of the disabled person's review board
in the Department of Human Resources to be the adult public
guardianship review board.

Senate Bill 319, which was passed by the General Assembly and
signed by me on May 17, 1988, accomplishes the same purpose.
Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House Bill 408.
