The Honorable Thomas V. Mike Miller, Jr.

President of the Senate

State House

Annapolis, Maryland 21401

Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland
Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 83.

This bill eliminates the jurisdiction and authority of the Public
Service Commission to regulate radio common carriers and cellular
telephone companies.

House Bill 140, which was passed by the General Assembly and
signed by me on May 17, 1988, accomplishes the same purpose:
Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sigh Senate Bill 83.

Sincerely,

William Donald Schaefer

Governor

Senate Bill No. 83

AN ACT concerning

FOR the purpose of eliminating the jurisdiction and authority of
the Public Service Commission to regulate radio common
carriers and cellular telephone companies.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 78 - Public Service Commission Law

- 5152 -
