(1) Establish an effective and efficient deer
checking system during the muzzle loader and bow hunting deer
season;
(2) Acquire additional hunter access during the
muzzle loader and bow hunting season; and
(3) Police hunting lands during the muzzle loader and
bow hunting season.
(d) The court clerk or designated person shall write or
stamp the date of issuance on the face of every CONSOLIDATED
HUNTING LICENSE [deer], BASIC HUNTING LICENSE, AND INDIVIDUAL
HUNTING stamp issued [pursuant to] UNDER this section. Each
INDIVIDUAL HUNTING stamp shall be affixed [adhesively to the back
of the] IN THE MANNER THAT THE DEPARTMENT PROVIDES. [regular
season hunter's license of the person to whom the stamp is
issued.] The recipient shall sign the CONSOLIDATED HUNTING
LICENSE OR BASIC HUNTING LICENSE [stamp] in ink.
10-308.1.
(a) In addition to the CONSOLIDATED HUNTING LICENSE OR
[regular hunter's] BASIC HUNTING license, a person hunting
migratory wild waterfowl in the State first shall obtain a
Maryland migratory wild waterfowl stamp.
(b) A Maryland migratory wild waterfowl stamp is not
required of the following:
(1) The owner or tenant of farmland, [his] THE
OWNER'S OR TENANT'S spouse and children, or the spouse of any
child who resides on the farmland, when hunting on that farmland.
A tenant is a person holding land under a lease, or a
sharecropper who resides in a dwelling on the land, but not an
employee of the owner or tenant; and
(2) Any resident serving in the Armed Forces of the
United States while on leave in the State, during [his] THE
RESIDENT'S leave period, if, while hunting, [he] THE RESIDENT
possesses a copy of [his] THE RESIDENT'S leave order.
(c) (1) A person may obtain a Maryland migratory wild
waterfowl stamp for a fee of $6 from the clerk of the circuit
court of any county or from any person designated by the
Department. The issuing clerk or person designated shall retain
the sum of 10 cents as compensation for issuing each stamp. The
balance of the fee is paid over and accounted for to the State
Treasurer. The Treasurer shall credit all such fees received to
the State Wildlife Management and Protection Fund, in accordance
with § 10-209 of this title.
