Ch. 724

LAWS OF MARYLAND

(a)  (1) EXCEPT AS PROVIDED IN PARAGRAPH (2) OF THIS
SUBSECTION, IN [In] addition to the [regular] BASIC [hunter's]
HUNTING license, a person hunting deer in the State first shall
obtain [a deer] THE APPROPRIATE INDIVIDUAL HUNTING stamp.

(2) A PERSON MAY HUNT DEER IN THE STATE DURING EACH
SEASON WITH A CONSOLIDATED HUNTING LICENSE.

(b)  A HUNTING LICENSE OR OTHER [deer] INDIVIDUAL HUNTING
stamp is not required of the following:

(1)  The owner or tenant of farmland, [his] THE
OWNER'S OR TENANT'S spouse and children, or the spouse of any
child who resides on the farmland. A tenant is a person holding
land under a lease, or a sharecropper who resides in a dwelling
on the land, but it does not include any employee of the owner or
tenant; and

(2)  Any resident serving in the Armed Forces of the
United States while on leave in the State, during [his] THE
RESIDENT'S leave period, if, while hunting, [he] THE RESIDENT
possesses a copy of [his] THE RESIDENT'S official leave order.

(C) A person WITH A BASIC HUNTING LICENSE [may] SHALL
obtain a deer stamp for a fee [of $5.50] AS PROVIDED IN §
10-301(F)(5) OF THIS SUBTITLE. [In addition to a deer stamp, a]
A person WITH A BASIC HUNTING LICENSE hunting deer during the bow
hunting season shall obtain a special bow hunting deer stamp for
a fee [of $1.25] AS PROVIDED IN § 10-301(F)(5) OF THIS SUBTITLE.
A person WITH A BASIC HUNTING LICENSE hunting deer with a muzzle
loader during the muzzle loader deer season shall obtain a
special black powder deer stamp for a fee [of $1.25] AS PROVIDED
IN § 10-301(F)(5) OF THIS SUBTITLE. A person may obtain the
[stamps] CONSOLIDATED HUNTING LICENSE, THE BASIC LICENSE, OR
individual HUNTING STAMP from the clerk of the circuit court of
any county or from any person designated by the Department. [A
resident 65 years of age or over shall pay $1 for a deer stamp.
A resident 65 years of age or over shall pay 50 cents for a
special deer stamp.] The issuing clerk or person designated
shall retain the sum of [25] 50 cents as compensation for issuing
each [stamp] BASIC HUNTING LICENSE AND AN INDIVIDUAL HUNTING
STAMP AND $1 AS COMPENSATION FOR ISSUING EACH CONSOLIDATED
HUNTING LICENSE. The balance of the fee is paid over and
accounted for in the same manner as [hunter's] HUNTING licenses.
[The Department shall use the revenue accruing from the sale of
special stamps under this subsection to:] THE DEPARTMENT SHALL
USE $1 FROM THE SALE OF EACH CONSOLIDATED HUNTING LICENSE AND,
EXCEPT FOR THE FEE RETAINED BY THE ISSUING CLERK, ALL OF THE
MONEY DERIVED FROM THE SALE OF BOW AND ARROW AND BLACK POWDER
STAMPS TO:
