(B) NOTHING CONTAINED IN THIS PART SHALL PREVENT THE
DEFENDANT FROM SUMMONING A WITNESS MENTIONED IN THIS PART AS A
WITNESS FOR THE DEFENSE.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1988.

AN ACT concerning
Vehicle Laws - Trucks - Equipment and Inspections
FOR the purpose of altering certain provisions of law relating to
the display of warning flags on certain vehicles; repealing
a provision of law exempting, until a certain date, certain
vehicles from a requirement to have specified braking
equipment; defining a certain term; altering a certain
definition; altering certain provisions of law relating to
the length measurement of certain vehicles; establishing a
certain length limitation for a certain type of vehicle;
clarifying language; altering provisions of law relating to
the securing of certain loads; authorizing the Motor Vehicle
Administration and the State Police to adopt certain
regulations; authorizing a hazardous materials inspector to
conduct safety inspections; providing for the payment of
certain salaries and expenses out of money received under
the Maryland Vehicle Law; and generally relating to certain
vehicle equipment requirements and safety inspections.
