(2) EACH SUCCEEDING YEAR IN OFFICE, THE CHAIRMAN AND
OTHER ELECTED MEMBERS SHALL EACH RECEIVE A 7 PERCENT INCREASE IN
COMPENSATION.

(b)  Until the salaries of the Chairman and members of the
County Board are established in accordance with the provisions of
subsection (a) of this section:

(1)  The Chairman of the County Board shall be paid at
the rate of $8,500 annually; and

(2)  The other elected members of the County Board
shall be paid at the rate of $8,000 annually.

(c)  After submitting vouchers under the rules and
regulations adopted by the County Board, the Chairman and the
other members, including the student member, are entitled to the
allowances for travel and other expenses provided in the Prince
George's County budget.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1988.

AN ACT concerning

Montgomery County - Mental Hygiene Law - Definitions

FOR the purpose of clarifying that, with respect to Montgomery
County, the terms "health department" and "health officer",
as those terms are defined in and applicable to Title 10
(Mental Hygiene Law) certain titles of the Health - General
Article of the Annotated Code of Maryland, mean the
Montgomery County Department of Addiction, Victim, and
Mental Health Services and the Director of the Montgomery
County Department of Addiction, Victim, and Mental Health
Services, respectively; providing for the qualifications of
the Director; and making a technical change.
