2-103. SATURDAY HOURS.

THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MAY CLOSE THEIR OFFICE ON

SUBTITLE 2. COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR AND CLERK

2-201. CLERK; APPOINTMENT, COMPENSATION, OATH.

(A)  APPOINTMENT AND TERM. THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MAY
APPOINT A CLERK TO THEIR BOARD. THE CLERK'S TERM OF OFFICE IS
FOR 2 YEARS AND BEGINS ON THE FIRST DAY OF JULY FOLLOWING THE
CLERK'S APPOINTMENT AND QUALIFICATION. IF THE CLERK DIES,
RESIGNS, IS INCOMPETENT, OR IS OTHERWISE DISQUALIFIED, THE BOARD
SHALL FILL THE VACANCY FOR THE PERIOD OF THE UNEXPIRED TERM.

(B)  SALARY. THE CLERK'S ANNUAL SALARY SHALL BE SET BY THE
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS.

(C)  OATH. BEFORE ENTERING UPON THE CLERK'S OFFICIAL
DUTIES, THE CLERK SHALL TAKE AND SUBSCRIBE THE FOLLOWING OATH OR
AFFIRMATION BEFORE ONE OF THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS, ANY ONE OF
WHOM MAY ADMINISTER IT: "I DO SWEAR OR AFFIRM SOLEMNLY THAT AS
CLERK TO THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS, I WILL HONESTLY AND
FAITHFULLY, TO THE BEST OF MY SKILL AND JUDGMENT, EXECUTE THE
DUTIES PERTAINING TO THE OFFICE WHICH I AM ABOUT TO ASSUME,
WITHOUT FAVOR, PARTIALITY OR PREJUDICE, SO HELP ME GOD."

2-202. CLERK TO COMMISSIONERS.

(A)  APPOINTMENT. (1) BEFORE JULY 1 IN EVERY ODD YEAR, THE
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS SHALL APPOINT A CLERK. UNLESS SOONER
REMOVED FOR CAUSE, THE CLERK SHALL HOLD OFFICE FOR A TERM OF 2
YEARS.

(2)  THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS SHALL SET THE CLERK'S
ANNUAL SALARY.

(3)  THE CLERK SHALL PERFORM ALL DUTIES REQUIRED OF
HIM BY LAW OR WHICH MAY BE REQUIRED OF HIM BY ANY ORDER OF THE
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS.

(B)  DUTIES. (1) THE CLERK SHALL MAKE COMPLETE AND ACCURATE
MINUTES OF ALL TRANSACTIONS AND PROCEEDINGS OF THE COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS AND OF ALL ORDERS PASSED BY THEM, AND RECORD THOSE
