subdivision", "municipali{y}", "cit{y}", and
"count{y}", to conform to the terminology used
elsewhere in this title.
In subsections (a)(1) and (2) and (c) of this section,
references to a "person who engages in the business of
providing electrical services" are substituted for
former references to "electrical contractors" and
"contractors", for clarity.
In subsection (a)(2) of this section, the words
"electrical services" are substituted for the former
word "work", for clarity.
Also in subsection (a)(2) of this section, the former
provision for a local jurisdiction to adopt any system
of licenses is deleted as surplusage in light of
subsection (a)(1) of this section.
In subsection (a)(4) of this section, the defined term
"provide electrical services" is substituted for the
former reference to "electrical work performed", for
clarity.
Also in subsection (a)(4) of this section, the phrase
"except as provided in § 2-602 of this title" is
substituted for the former exception "where a State
master electrical license has been issued by the State
Board to a licensee, when no local examination will be
necessary", for clarity.
In the introductory language of subsection (a)(5) of
this section, the word "licensed" is substituted for
the former word "registered" to conform to changes in
terminology made throughout this title.
In subsection (a)(5)(ii) of this section, the
references to "issuance" and "renewal" are added as
standard language for clarity.
In subsection (b) of this section, the former
exemption for a political subdivision "which does not
have licensing provisions for this activity" is
deleted in light of the revision of § 2-301 of this
title.
